Eventful Day in Hospital
It started last week on a Saturday (12th April).. In a private hospital somewhere on the island..
Below is the dialogue :
Setting: Outside the orthopedic clinic, Mark74 is sitting in the waiting area with his wife. The Malay lady approaches them.
Malay Lady: (smiling warmly) Excuse me, I couldn’t help but notice your wife looks a bit uncomfortable. Is everything alright?
Mark74: Yes, she’s actually here for some hip pain. We’re just waiting for the doctor.
Malay Lady: Ah, that’s tough. I’m a traditional massage therapist. I’ve been practicing for over 20 years. Sometimes, physical pain has deeper roots, wouldn’t you agree?
Wife: (glancing at Mark74) Yes, I believe that. It's more than just physical sometimes.
Mark74: What do you mean by deeper roots?
Malay Lady: Well, I learned from my grandmother—she was a Siamese witch doctor, you see. She taught me to sense energy in the body. Sometimes pain can be linked to emotional stress or past injuries, not just the current issue.
Wife: That’s interesting! I’ve always been curious about alternative therapies.
Mark74: Have you had a lot of success with your treatments?
Malay Lady: Very much so. I’ve helped many people, especially those dealing with chronic pain. If you’re open to it, I could offer some advice or even a session.
Wife: I’m definitely interested! It’s worth a try, right?
Mark74: (nodding) Yes, I think it could be helpful. How can we arrange that?
Malay Lady: Just take my number. After your appointment today, we can set something up. I’m confident I can help.
Mark74: Thank you! We really appreciate it.
