well ......... the part owner of the place has already said it will close (or have already closed) coz the lease is up and Marine disco will enlarge their premisis into where Peppermint is now. It will then relocate downstairs. No sure about the timing but they would be dumb to miss the last festival (Songkran) before the low season. I susupect anytime now.

With last years world downturn affecting planning for this years trip for the angmos ; I suspect this year's low season will be the mother of all low seasons.

Bro, I checked with another Pattaya forum and those guys were very kind to help me out with a quick reply as follows.
"Yes, that's right Macha Bucha day will be on February 28. But that doesn't mean that ALL bars are closed. Most agogos will be closed - maybe a few on Walking street will be open. But many of the beer bars will be open. They will switch off the light, have no music but you can order your drink and talk to ladies."

unlikely booze will be sold and even if so will be under cover. A lot of girls will also not turn up for work. Generally the whole of thailand will be the same but with minor changes for different places.

Also no point asking around coz most will base their judgement for this year on last year's experience and every year can and may be diferent. Even the bar owners wont know till they recieve the police's official letter ; and even that may come only 24hrs before or worse still never come! Thailand is a wait and see country.

If I was you , either I wont take the risk or stock up on booze and phone numbers!

if you can wait try not to go Thailand when they have Buddhist or Royal festivities. very inconvenient.

i think stocking up on booze and keeping the phone contacts up to date would be a safer bet during Buddhist and Royal public holidays. :D

After my Pattaya trip I had a FL back in Singapore. Man, it is so expensive compared to Thailand. I spent almost $150 for this PRc SYT for 1.5 hours. For SGD$150, I could buy half the girls in a bar for a week! (almost :) )

Say, have any of the experienced Masters here tried asking out the sales girls instead of the hookers? I find some of the sales girls are prettier, and there was one who I got along with quite well and was quite pretty, but it never occurred to me to ask her out- it was the end of my last day in Pattaya :(

Unfortunately, I did not see any glass room when I was there few nights ago.
Probably it was removed. But there is a small area where few girls dancing naked behind BARS near the toilet area.

Can also try Supergirl and Superbaby both located at Soi diamond.
You wont be disappointed with the selection there.
But do come early to avoid disappointment.

Suggest not to go Pattaya this coming weekend as you will face the roadblock and bloody jam coming back to Bkk on 1st march. The police/army will check & stop the red shirts from coming in for their rally.
